I’m a conservation manager specialising in returning native plants to environments where weeds are currently taking up the space.
I grew up on the northern beaches of Sydney where I spent countless hours enjoying, exploring and experiencing the outdoors: coast, surf and bush. My parents appreciated the natural environment too. After finishing school, I had a seminal time in northern NSW learning permaculture principles from Bill Mollison and others, and that worldview is still a fundamental part of my life and work.
A love of surfing brought me to WA as a young fella and one thing led to another: I’ve been in Albany, on the south coast of WA, permanently since 2003. A Conservation and Land Management TAFE course in 2004, combined with volunteering for various environment groups, set me on a path that I am still loving: using my energy to help native vegetation (our natural heritage), especially through the removal of environmental weeds.
