Anne Bondin
Convenor, Albany Bird Group; co-founder, Friends of the Western Ground Parrot
Born in Europe, I grew up with a love for nature. After getting married and moving to Australia, I decided to follow one of my passions and became involved in nature conservation, volunteering for a wide variety of projects. Initially I belonged to the local branch of the Wildflower Society of WA, but after a few years, a growing interest in birds led me to join BirdLife Australia.
Currently, I am the convenor of the Albany branch. I am particularly interested in shorebirds and endangered species and have been a member of the South Coast Threatened Birds Recovery Team for nearly two decades. However, if asked about my favourite birds, the answer will always be puffins.
