Overview

Greens Pool is the iconic centrepiece of William Bay National Park. A natural pool of turquoise water, protected by a chain of granite boulders, making it a safer place to swim on this wild South Coast.

The coastline of this National Park is dominated by ancient granite rocks, white sandy beaches and an abundance of marine life. Greens Pool has been closed to fishing since late 2018 and the fish life is now abundant. Zebra fish, silver drummer, herring and whiting are all there. If you are really lucky you might see a wobbegong, an ocotopus, blue devil or  blue grouper.

William Bay National Park is very popular in peak periods such as school and public holidays and there are limited parking spaces so visit the park outside of these times if you can.

There are fantastic walking and cycling opportunities here too, with the Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Track passing through the National Park. Walks along Mazoletti’s beach to the west and over the granite rocks between Greens Pool with Elephant Rocks are also recommended.
