Overview

Hilltop Lookout to the Tingle Tree and return – Start this wonderful walk from the Hilltop Lookout, which is located just 3 km south of Walpole. Enjoy the splendid views from the Lookout over the Inlets and the Southern Ocean, before following a section of the Bibbulman Track through the Karri and Tingle Forest. This 5.3 km return trail (approx. 1hr 20mins) is considered moderately challenging.

Arriving at the iconic Giant Tingle Tree fully rewards your efforts – at over 400 years old and over 50 m tall, this is a truly impressive Queen of Trees. A boardwalk around the majestic Tingle Tree protects its fragile shallow root systems from trampling. Interpretive plaques along this segment offer valuable information about the unique ecology of the Tingle Forest.

Driving to The Giant Tingle Tree – Alternatively, if you wish to drive to the Tingle Tree after the Hilltop Lookout, drive east 2.1 km along Hilltop Road to a carpark marked as the entrance to the Giant Tingle Tree.
