Zoologist, ecologist and Biodiversity Project Officer at Wilson Inlet Catchment Committee

Like many of my colleagues, I love being outdoors and exploring. I moved to the south coast of Western Australia (WA) to immerse myself in the cold, wild, rugged shoreline — my favourite places are those where coastal heath on granite meet the sea.

I’ve lived and worked across WA and the Northern Territory and particularly enjoy seeing reptiles, frogs and marine life. Over the past decade, I’ve also developed a greater appreciation for birds, especially while coordinating projects focused on threatened species. I hope we’ll find a way to protect Black Cockatoos, Australasian Bitterns and Western Ground Parrots. 

Following my experience in the WA Museum design department, I’ve become interested in the intersection of art and fauna, particularly photography, but also other creative media. I enjoy seeing artists’ interpretations of the natural world and hope to find time to create more art myself.

I’ve worked in government agencies and private consultancy, but I’m especially drawn to not-for-profit organisations, where I work now. My role as Biodiversity Project Officer at the Wilson Inlet Catchment Committee is part-time.
